As the destructive wildfires continue to devastate our communities here in Los Angeles and Southern California, we are witnessing an incredible coming-together of organizations, resources, and individuals working tirelessly to ensure support is accessible to everyone. The compounding stress, isolation, uncertainty, and grief of this crisis affects everyone in our City and our communities.
At JQ International, we are responding to the evolving needs of our community and doing everything we can to support everyone impacted by these tragedies. Unfortunately, this crisis is still not over, and the road to recovery is long and uncertain. As we wait to see what kinds of aid becomes available from Federal, State, and Local agencies, we know that Angelinos across the region will need long-term support for the huge toll this has taken on everyone’s mental health and well-being. At JQ, we have been a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ Jewish community for 20 years, bringing together LGBTQ+ Jews and their allies to address their unique needs, no matter what they are – we are prepared to rise to this occasion, and we need your support to make our work possible.
We remain committed to staying attuned to the evolving needs of our community. JQ is here to provide support through our Helpline, Support Groups, Psychoeducation, and Community Programs. Under these unprecedented circumstances, JQ is showing up to support the mental health of Angelinos. We are asking our community to speak up and let us know both what their evolving needs are as well as to inform us of any relevant opportunities that will allow us to ensure our life-affirming work can continue in this challenging moment. We depend on our entire ecosystem to bring JQ’s critical services to LGBTQ+ Jews in need.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Helpline if you have any questions or feel overwhelmed. We’re here to help you navigate this difficult time with compassion and patience.
