This Pride Month, JQ created joyful spaces for LGBTQ+ Jews and allies to come together in celebration and community. From storytelling to high-energy parades to Shabbatot filled with spirit, we embraced the fullness of who we are, together as one.
Whether you danced in the streets, shared challah under the stars, or simply showed up with pride, thank you for making this season so colorful. Here’s a look back at the powerful, playful, and proud moments we shared.
1. WeHo Pride Mayor’s Reception
We kicked things off with glamor and gratitude at the official WeHo Pride Mayor’s Reception, hosted by JJLA and the City of West Hollywood. With live music, a performance by Drag Queen Laureate Pickle, and a welcome from Mayor Chelsea Byers and other city leaders, this evening set the tone for a month of celebration and solidarity.

2. JQ Advocates Storytelling Showcase
JQ’s newest cohort of Advocates took the stage at Beth Chayim Chadashim and shared their stories of identity and courage. After six weeks of training, these changemakers inspired a packed room of LGBTQ+ Jewish leaders and allies with their vulnerability, strength, and vision for an inclusive future.

3. WeHo Pride Parade & JQ Pride Brunch
Thousands marched down Santa Monica Boulevard, and we were right there with them – dancing, waving rainbow flags, and cheering each other on. After the parade, we hosted our beloved JQ Pride Brunch with rainbow bagels, mimosas, and plenty of community warmth. There’s nothing quite like celebrating pride from your own front porch.

4. JQ Community Pride Shabbat with IKAR and NuRoots
We welcomed Shabbat together in Pico-Robertson with ruach-filled services and a community dinner. Folks of all ages came to light candles, sing, and celebrate queer Jewish identity with depth and joy.

5. JQ Young Adults Pride Shabbat
This Shabbat was all about gathering young LGBTQ+ Jews and allies in a space that felt electric and warm. With food, flowing drinks, and connection, this night was a reminder of the vibrant queer Jewish community that exists in West Hollywood and beyond.

6. Shabbat and a Show: Parade at the Ahmanson
In partnership with OneTable and Center Theater Group, we welcomed Shabbat with a kosher dinner and meaningful conversation, then crossed the street to the Ahmanson to see “Parade,” a Tony Award-winning musical about Jewish identity, justice, and love. The evening was equal parts moving and memorable.

7. Heart & Chutzpah Campaign
This June, we didn’t just celebrate, we acted. Our Heart & Chutzpah campaign called on our community to support life-affirming services for LGBTQ+ Jews and allies. In a time of rising queerphobia and antisemitism, we showed LA what it means to lead with compassion and courage. The response from our community was heartening, and we’re grateful for everyone who stepped up to support our mission. Nice job, friends!
P.S. You still have time to make a gift in honor of Jewish Pride.

Thank you for being part of this powerful Pride Month. The joy, resilience, and connection we experienced together don’t end in June, and neither does our work. Let’s keep showing up for each other, celebrating loudly, and building a more inclusive Jewish future all year round.
